Tubi - that's quite an interesting story - if it is to be believed. I haven't heard anything about this geezer apart from what you posted. Right now the front runners seem to be either Psycho or Dowie and as much as I want to see SP do well, I'm not sure he's the man for the job, just yet. As for ID, well, I know he's well liked in some circles but I'm unconvinced about his ability. I hope he can prove me wrong.

Blue Val - thanks for establishing this link for us. I don't know where I'd be without my daily dose of Izzet. Hopefully the General and the rest of the troops can find us soon and get the party going again.

Crickey, I asked the bloke at the border "Is this heaven ?"

"No" he replied "It's Izzet"

I'm home. Bloody marvellous. Alph, you're a latter day saint mate. Thanks for the airlift out of there. Those moron, bogus colonials on the DC boards were addling my mind with their banalities.

Can you believe that there are supposed city fans that post there that actually believe in the reincarnation of the Walford One. I know Easter's coming up, but for goodness sake!!!!

Anyway it's great to be back. Does anyone have any idea what happened ?? Is this a permenant billet ? What counter measures are in place to retreive the others ? Does anyone sense a conspiracy theory. I never got a reply from Doug ? Is there a Doug ?

I remain

Hoy there Berko. Welcome back.

There WAS a doug, but whether or not there still IS a doug is another question all together.

Personally i think he's been kidnapped by the rags over at DC and is currently being held in a cold dark cellar with posters of Eric Cantona and Paul Parker in blue socks on the walls.

You cannot supress the Izzet. Many have tried....all have failed.

Tubs - I've got that 'just arrived at my holdiay hotel and don't know where anything is' feeling. I wonder what the regular forkers and corkers make of this. I suppose discussion of Onuaha v. Mills, Walford in or out etc. is as odd to them as the relative merits of a lobster thermidor or an Israeli Baron Hertzog '91 may be to me.

One promise I've made to myself is not to be drawn into the new management speculation until Psycho has been given a chance. I think that succeed or fail in the mid term he deserves the support of all not least this highly mobile brigade.

Long Live Psysho !! Long Live the BRA !!

And on the same subject, how did Blue Val get French Provincial Bistro. With all due respect to the Caff, the bistro sounds more like it. Owners rights ?

'Transport Caff' indeed.

Well, nice to have you back Berko.

I can catch up with Streaky at the next home game coz I know where he sits and maybe before coz I recognised his style and profile on another site and reckon I know his monicker.

Jensen I have emailed and hope him to be around soon. I will get around to FFC later today.

That's my lot. Jase's email is returning unknown, nobody knows bellboys, but the irascible young sod will find us if he wants to, he's clever that one and would be sadly and pessimistically missed.

Jensen is a' big hope' in that he is the one most likely to have other email addresses.

All for now.
Time for my lobster thermidor, a bottle of rather nice 1991 Israeli plonk that BlueVal sent me and then my afternoon siesta .

I'm getting the hang of how the hacks at DC work now. They invent a story; today it's the lastest target for the gaffer's job - bloody Paul Jewell !! Then they submit some comments in the guise of a few half hearted and untraceable toadies, spice it up with some counterpoint from some equally bogus yanks and bingo, they have a virtual debate. Result - demoralisation for all concerned. MUEN win again.

Well I refuse to lay down and tolerate what at best is the usual comatose journalism from a few unqualified cretins and at worst the deliberate attempt by a bunch of red sympathisers to stir up the pot in a crude attempt to make mischief.

Below is a post which may appear if they feel like in the Jewell section;

Gentlemen - I applaud your efforts to rally around the flag and support the Pearce cause (or not as the case may be). But I implore the true city fans here to note the bigger picture. As the days and weeks go by we will be linked with every itinerant lower league boss, former player, foreign mercenary and ner - do - well that the media decides upon. The purpose will be to de-stabalise, de-moralise and undermine the staus quo. There will be not the merest shred of evidence to support the "City eye...." stories yet they will gain significant column inches in an attempt to create mischief. Certain posts will attempt to engage in reasoned debate on the merits or otherwise on the latest pseudo specualtions and this will all play into the hands of the coniving journos. When SP has had 4 or 5 games at the helm we will be in a position to make a judgement. Until such time we should let the club lead the unfolding of this story and not the media.

When the BRA is fully re-assembled I sense that the time will be right to rejoin hostilities with the oafs at DC.

Are we still Izzeters or are we Forkncorkers? The latter creates too many unsettling conotations of the vile Irishman with our neighbours.

I remain

Berko, I'm fork'n lots of things but fork'n cork, I don't think so, much as I am prepared to grovel to the saintly BlueVal for rescuing us from ether obscurity!

As for 'Staus Quo', is he another bloody foreigner after Psycho's job?

I really hooted at the Psycho part of the club news conference. After Wardle had finished saying he had the job until they reviewed it in the summer, Psycho ups and says he is the manager and will remain so for some years or until some bastard wrestles it away from him. That's my sort of guy!

He also said that if you're good enough you're old enough or young enough as the case may be. I like that too. He has some pretty rubbish legacy amongst his playing staff but every new manager does. He has a heck of a lot less dead wood than Joe inherited!!! He might also get some of them playing a bit? One example is David Sommeil who looked good when he first came and then had a long lasting nightmare. Against Trotters, playing OOP, he looked fine to me. If Reyna could remain fit and Sinclair get a bit of form back they would be good squad players. An old Royal Navy saying is, 'New Ship, New Cap Tallies'. When you change ship you put a new name on your hat and its a clean slate. I would suggest that we agree to do this for the first team squad?

They say that the exception proves every rule and at this point I would say.....Macca......!

I don't want him to play for us again unless we only have 11 fit players and he is one of the, and the tea lady has piles. Please Macca, just go in the summer, with your bag of loot and leave us alone. I don't think him a bad lad, it didnt work......end of story.

CAMPAIGNING

BlueVal needs to lead us on this one, he has the best idea of how these things work but let me put a point:

1. Psycho is under presure to deliver to keep the job and has a much stronger incentive than KK to stick to the oldies 'been there done that' and 'safety first' process.
2. We want him to play the youngsters who he feels are good enough and he has said that he knows more about the Academy than anyone at the club other than Jim Cassell.
3. I think that the board needs to understand that the fans will suffer a few dissappointing results, (if that were to happen) to see the post Spurs games used to establish young talent and that they should ensure that Psycho understands that it isn't only results (in terms of points gained) that he will be judged on but how much stronger our squad is at the end of the season as a result of his management, coaching, innovation, selection, tactics and all round leadership.
4. I dont think Psycho will leave the youth unplayed and be conservative for jobsworth reasons anyway, but some pro-active support from the troops?

BVal always counsells that we have an achievable target like getting a story of editorial printed that we could have written. Although we have fun winding up the MUEN site, I think BVal is absolutely right in this and that we should keep powder dry for the real and important issues.

I suggest that the rear Admiral of the Blue, Valentine take charge of this latest turn of events whilst the battered but defiant General Berko recuperates in a nicely appointed Cordon Bleu. Michelin *** Auberge.

Ernie

Please explain to us what we need to do to help you on the management/funding of this site. You mentioned 'googling' things???

If there are costs I will happily throw a contribution into the pot, I can send the 'Trained Killer' over there to 'waste' any journalistic enemies you have for instance....... nod, nod.....wink, wink... consider it done, say no more squire!

By the way TUB's I am singularly underwhelmed by achieving 'Soup kitchen'.

The Highly Respected Editor in Chief of Food and Wine Ireland will be informed ASAP that more endangered species and well hung mammals, complemented by the finest of aged viniculture has passed through this venerable gullet and iron cast digestive system than could have ever been achieved in a 'Soup Kitchen'.

Even one run by BlueVal!

Harrummphhh!!

Taken from MUEN

Quote:
BEN Thatcher, Nedum Onuoha and Jon Macken have all shrugged off injury problems to put themselves in contention for Stuart Pearce's first game as manager against Spurs - but Steve McManaman will miss out.

The former Real Madrid midfielder is sidelined with a calf strain and will not feature at White Hart Lane.
Such a shame. Just when poor old macca was starting to find some form

Lets all pray for a speedy recovery from the old chap, and keep him in our thoughts during the match on saturday

Good to see (read?) you all (those that have made it this far!) and let's hope the others touch base soon....

I like the noises SP has made thus far - let's hope he gets his managerial career at CITY off to a flyer against SPURS. Unlike most of the MUEN posters, I don't think that Stuart will make that many changes for his first game in charge and I really can't see him starting BWP. I even think that he will leave Nedum on the bench and play a 4-4-1-1- formation as we are AWAY. This is the team I think he will play ...

......................................JAMES....... ....................
.....MILLS...........DUNNE.............DISTIN..... .........THATCHER...
.....CROFT.........BARTON.......REYNA/BOSVELT......MUSAMPA...
.................................SIBIERSKI........ ....................................
..................................FOWLER.......... ....................................

Subs:- Weaver, BWP, Onouha, Reyna/Bosvelt, Jordan.

Not sure where that leaves MACKEN/FLOOD.....but still.....

We have a chance here guys - Spurs may be deflated after being knocked out by Newcastle in the F.A.Cup and then losing to Charlton in the Prem. Now's your chance, Stuart!!!!!!

post on this one chaps.

http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/sp...tory_id=151724

it is about the pressure on Pearce to get results and points.

ICSL
Not much wrong with that team mate, but I think Thatcher might be injured? I'd play Bozzer to start. I dont think this is a game for experimenting and if it goes well a couple of the young players should then get 20 minutes.

Flood will be OK but I feel that Croft needs to be given a chance now and be encouraged. Flood is a right winger. Both SWP and Croft can play a very good IR game and when Shuany goes we sure will need both of those talented lads.

Once Psycho has a couple of games under his belt I would like to see him play BWP for 90 minutes (60 with Fowler and 30 with Macken). I would like to see a midfield in a game with Flood at OR and Croft at IR.

Hello Chaps!

Nice to be here. Thanks to Blueval for the temporary accomodation, and to Alph for inviting me to the party. Hope we manage to get hold of all the 'regulars'. I'll keep my ears low to the ground.

I do believe Maggie is injured, so i would expect jordan to start.

Have to say SP talks a hell of a lot of sense. He's actually making me start to feel pretty confident.

Just hope when it comes down to it, the team can deliver.

What ho Jenners!!

Welcome home.

Not sure what our long term future holds but I think that Alph and some of our more technically adroit chums may have some ideas on this one. As an old technophobe I've taken a watching brief from my bathchair on top of the hill.

I pretty much agree with the above comments about Psycho's first couple of team selections. If he made wholesale changes and we lost he'd be branded foolhardy and rash. His inexperience would be cited and would ultimately precipitate a renewed round of specualtion from the pretend ex-pats and cretinous hacks on the boards at DC. I see him easing certain key players into key roles over the next 3 or 4 games. I think that the winners will be Onuaha, Croft and BWP and the losers will be Mills, Sibbers, Macken, Mcmnmnmnmn and Reyna. I can't imagine that Walford will feature at all. I'm also not too confident for the Hobbit. I just think that Psycho will look for all his passion and commitment but in a more robust package.

Also I have a sneaking feeling about Weaver over James.

Anyway good luck to the man. I think a 1-1er might be enough to get him up and running.

As H. Bogart would have said "We'll always have Izzet"

I remain
